SEO for travel and trekking agencies in Nepal

Written by Reviewed by Updated

Hundreds of Nepali agencies chase the same few trek names. Many of their sites have near-identical itineraries copied from each other, which Google treats as thin. The agencies that rank write from experience: real day-by-day notes, current permit costs, honest difficulty ratings and photos from their own groups.

Most of your buyers are abroad, comparing you with agencies in their own country and big international operators. They need reasons to trust a company they've never met: registration with the Department of Tourism and TAAN, named guides, clear cancellation terms and reviews on independent sites.

SEO questions from travel agencies

Can a small agency rank for Everest Base Camp?

It's very hard for the main term. Small agencies usually do better ranking for specific searches (EBC in December, EBC with helicopter return, EBC cost from a specific country) and for less crowded treks.

Should we copy itineraries from the government or other agencies?

No. Duplicate itineraries are one of the main reasons agency sites don't rank. Write your own based on how your groups actually walk the route.

Do Google Ads work for trekking?

They can, especially targeted by country and season, but clicks are expensive. Most agencies use ads to test demand and SEO for long-term bookings.
