Facebook is still where most Nepali customers look first. Over 14 million people in Nepal use it, and plenty of them check a business's Facebook page before its website. A neat, complete page makes you look open and trustworthy; a half-finished one with a blurry logo and no reply for three days does the opposite.
Creating the page the right way
- Create it from your personal profile (Pages → Create), then add at least one other trusted admin
- Use your real business name, the same one on your registration and signboard
- Pick the most specific category you can (Dental clinic, not Health)
- Add address, phone, WhatsApp, website, hours and a short bio with what you do and where
- Claim a username so your page link is facebook.com/yourname, not a string of numbers
Page name rules that trip people up
Facebook rejects names with only generic words ('Best Clothing Nepal'), excessive capitals or symbols, and the word 'official' if you're not a verified brand. Fancy font 'name styles' copied from websites often get rejected too, and they're unreadable in search. Keep it plain: your brand name plus city if needed.
Image sizes
| Image | Recommended size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Profile picture | At least 320 × 320 px | Shown as a circle; keep the logo away from the edges |
| Cover photo | 1640 × 624 px (or 851 × 315 minimum) | Mobile crops the sides; keep text in the centre |
| Feed post (square) | 1080 × 1080 px | Works on Facebook and Instagram |
| Feed post (portrait) | 1080 × 1350 px | Takes more of the screen on phones |
| Reels / stories | 1080 × 1920 px | Keep captions out of the bottom 20% |
Settings most Nepali pages miss
- Turn on instant replies and saved replies for price, delivery and location questions
- Connect WhatsApp so the button opens a chat directly
- Link your Instagram account in Meta Business Suite to manage both inboxes in one place
- Add your services or a product catalogue with prices
- Set up a Business Portfolio (Business Manager) so the page isn't tied to one person's account
Growing followers without buying them
Bought followers and 'like exchange' groups make your page look busy and then kill your reach, because Facebook shows posts to a slice of followers first; if they don't react, it stops there. Real growth is slower but it sells.
- Post short videos of your product, your work or your team at least three times a week
- Answer every comment and message, especially in the first hour
- Run a small Page Likes or engagement campaign aimed at your city, not all of Nepal
- Invite people who react to your posts to like the page (the 'invite' button on reactions)
- Put your page link on your bills, packaging, shop counter and Google Business Profile
About Facebook page monetization
Many people search for page monetization in Nepal. Meta's creator monetization tools are available only in eligible countries and depend on policy checks, so availability for Nepal-based pages changes. For a business page, the money is in the customers it brings, not in ad revenue from views.
