How the estimate works

Studies of online shops and lead sites have long found that each extra second of load time loses a share of conversions; a common rule of thumb is about 7% per second. Google's own research found the chance of a visitor leaving rises sharply as mobile load time goes from one to five seconds. This calculator applies that 7% rule for every second you're slower than your target. Treat it as an order of magnitude, not an exact figure.

Load time and visitor behaviour
Mobile load timeHow it feels to a visitor
Under 2.5 sFast. Google's 'good' threshold for Largest Contentful Paint
2.5 – 4 sNoticeable wait; some people leave
4 – 6 sSlow on Nepali mobile data; many leave before it loads
Over 6 sMost first-time visitors give up

Find your real load time

Run your site through our free website audit and use the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) figure for mobile. The usual fixes are compressing images, better hosting, fewer plugins and less JavaScript. See our guide on website speed in Nepal.

Questions about this tool

Is the 7% per second figure exact?

No. It's a widely used rule of thumb from industry studies. Your real loss depends on your audience, device and how much people want what you sell.

What is a good load time for a Nepali website?

Under 2.5 seconds for the main content on a mid-range Android phone over 4G, which is Google's 'good' LCP threshold.

Will a faster site rank higher on Google?

Speed is one of many ranking signals. Its bigger effect is on how many visitors stay and enquire.

How do I count enquiry value?

Average sale value × the share of enquiries that become customers. For example NPR 40,000 × 20% = NPR 8,000 per enquiry.
