Social media marketing in Nepal is sold in packages: a number of posts, some reels, a few platforms, and sometimes ad management. The trouble is that two 'NPR 20,000 packages' can include completely different work. Here's what the prices usually mean.
The short answer
Most businesses pay NPR 15,000–60,000 a month for social media management, plus ad spend paid to Meta or TikTok. A basic package keeps one or two pages active; a full package covers strategy, regular reels, community replies and paid campaigns.
| Package level | Typical monthly fee | Usually includes |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | NPR 8,000 – 15,000 | 12–15 designed posts, 1–2 platforms, captions |
| Standard | NPR 20,000 – 35,000 | Posts plus 4–8 reels, content calendar, basic ad management |
| Full brand | NPR 40,000 – 80,000 | 3–4 platforms, regular reels and shoots, ads, replies, monthly report |
Our own social plans are NPR 15,000, NPR 30,000 and NPR 60,000 a month. Ad spend is always separate and goes directly to the platform.
Management fee vs ad spend
This is where most confusion comes from. The management fee pays for planning, design, video, writing and running ads. Ad spend (sometimes called boost budget) is the money Meta or TikTok charges to show your content to more people. A package that says 'includes boosting' should say exactly how much ad spend is included.
What changes the price
- Video: reels with shooting and editing cost much more than designed images
- Number of platforms: each one needs its own format and attention
- Replies and inbox handling: answering messages every day is real work
- Photography: on-site shoots versus using your own photos
- Language: content in both English and Nepali takes longer
- Reporting: tracking enquiries and sales, not just likes
How to compare packages fairly
- Ask how many reels, not just posts, and who shoots them
- Ask what's measured: reach and likes, or messages and sales
- Check who owns the page and ad account (it should be you)
- Ask for examples of work in your industry
- Make sure ad spend is shown separately on every invoice
Is social media alone enough?
For restaurants, fashion and consumer products, social media can bring most of your customers. For services people search for, like clinics, schools, lawyers and B2B, it works best alongside a good website, Google Business Profile and SEO.
